Jasmin Marquez
Jasmin Marquez serves as the Programming and Music Business Operations Lead for the NBA. In this role, Marquez is responsible for all aspects of music licensing and programming across the NBA, affiliate leagues, and teams. She’s involved in the end-to-end process and workflow of clearing music for use in content and marketing, and leads negotiations with labels, publishers, and talent. Additionally, Marquez builds, develops, and maintains relationships to secure notable music partnerships.
Since transitioning into her current role in 2022, she has helped expand music industry partnerships to drive a premium experience for fans that bridges the gap between the NBA, culture, and lifestyle. Marquez has also implemented licensing strategies to expand the league's use of music, enhancing content initiatives around marketing campaigns and key events, such as the NBA All-Star.
In her previous role at the NBA with the Production Management group, Marquez oversaw the distribution of content created for the league’s owned and operated platforms across Amazon, Facebook, YouTube, and Snapchat, among others.
Marquez and her team led the music licensing for the award-winning Larry O’Brien Trophy NBA Finals Bucket List, which received the 2024 Hashtag Sports Award for Best Social Campaign and the PR News Platinum Awards’ Campaign of the Year in the sports/esports category.
In addition to her day-to-day responsibilities at the NBA, Marquez plays an integral role in several employee development programs and resource groups. This includes the league’s Global Media and Partnerships Mentorship Program, the NBA Women’s Network, and the Social Justice Task Force, which amplifies the NBA's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Marquez is also an Advisory Board Member for Seton Hall University’s Customer Experience Program.
Prior to joining the NBA, she held roles at The Harry Fox Agency, BMG/Zomba Music Publishing, Universal Music Group, and HBO. At Universal Music Group, she helped produce more than 150 videos and 10 full-length films for artists across various labels. She also helped launch the direct-to-consumer national streaming service HBO MAX/GO.
Marquez holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from The George Washington University.
