EVP of Diginets & Original Production at NBCUniversal Local

Meredith McGinn serves as executive vice president of diginets & original production for NBCUniversal Local, a division of NBCUniversal that includes 12 NBC and 31 Telemundo owned stations, five regional sports networks and three national multicast networks, as well as other media properties.  

In this role, McGinn was instrumental in the development of NBCUniversal Local’s 15 free ad-supported streaming news channels, which launched in 2022. She now manages the portfolio of 11 NBC local news channels and four Telemundo regional news channels that are distributed across top streaming and CTV platforms.   

McGinn also oversees NBCUniversal Local’s three national multicast networks: COZI TV, which delivers TV’s all-time best shows and pop culture favorites; TeleXitos, a network for Spanish-speaking audiences that delivers action and adventure classic programming without subtitles; and NBC LX Home, a new lifestyle network “that celebrates home, wherever that may be.”

In addition, she manages LXTV Productions, the production company behind original shows and specials, including travel show 1st Look, real estate and design shows Open House and Open House NYC, home improvement show George To The Rescue, and live red-carpet specials from the Emmy Awards and the Rose Parade for NBC Network, among others. At LXTV, she also oversees the production of custom integrated marketing solutions for top consumer brands. 

McGinn also leads NBCUniversal Local’s nationwide annual pet adoption campaign, Clear The Shelters. The successful initiative has resulted in more than one million pets finding new homes since its 2015 inception. The 2023 campaign led to more than 157,000 adoptions and raised more than $575,000. 

Previously, McGinn worked as director of news & content at NBC 4 New York / WNBC, where she was responsible for news decisions station and programming for New York Nonstop, which she launched in 2009. She also served as a senior producer for MSNBC from 2003 to 2006 and spent nearly a decade in news management at Fox TV Stations in New York and Philadelphia.
